  • Time in Istanbul is time spent well - AIESEC
    we are the worst tourists ever but personally I ve had the most fun in those 3 days we ve spent there The food is amazing I ve fallen in love with every bit I was taking and I m pretty sure that after one week I would have a food poisoning because my stomach would give up The city was amazing and on our last day we ve managed to visit most of the places which are worth to see so it was a very productive weekend In addition after we got back I had to start working again so it was more like a back to reality feeling that I got The work is still fine I love it although the workload is getting more extent and sometimes I feel like my brain will just explode at some point but I cannot complain because I m improving myself with every day passing by One of these days I had the chance to hold a presentation for the team which is located in Manchester It was quite a surprise when my boss notified me on the very last moment that I have to join a call however I took it as a challenge and it turned out to be quite good Moreover another surprising news was reaching me recently and that was a future job offer from my boss s side He approached me and my colleague Kristyna with the proposal that after we finish our internship we have the chance to join a different team which is also related to the risk department I was very flustered because it means that they are satisfied with our job so far which matter the most now Nevertheless I have a small struggle with my project somehow I cannot find the

  • When your comfort zone is on the run - AIESEC
    think that if I would have been at home I would have asked a lot of questions to see if this event is actually interesting Or I would have been quite lazy and found some random excuse to not wake up at 6 30 am on a Sunday Or I would have had some unimportant thing that I just didn t want to cancel because it was part of my comfort zone But being here far away and constantly being out of my comfort zone I heard that the event is for raising awareness for a disease and I directly said yes The questions about what I had to do only came afterwards I didn t care that I had to skip the party on Saturday had to wake up earlier than I usually do for going to work or that I d be late for lunch I was just happy that I was finally part of helping other people That s pretty much when I realised how easy it is for me to say that my purpose in life is to help others and have an impact but afterwards I just find excuses and stay in my comfort zone or choose fun over helping When you re at home unless you know someone who actively helps others and sometimes ask for your help it is easier not to do anything or maybe you are that person who is always helping However when you go abroad you have the chance to create a very random circle of acquaintances not just from work and old friends but also from language classes other organisations you are in contact with Facebook groups your new neighbour or simply a random person from the same continent as you that you met on the street You
