  • Industry » Søby Shipyard afraid of losing orders
we have know how in the ships If you like to keep the know how in Denmark one needs to keep tasks in Denmark and the law allows this says Roar Falkenberg director of Søby Shipyard I m very nervous It is a giant step back We are afraid that if we lose the Defence ships there are vessels that are similar which we can also lose because we no longer have know how for these ships adds Roar Falkenberg The Defense Minister Nicolai Wammen has also decided that a seven year maintenance contract for all 53 naval vessels should go to EU procurement The task has a value of 700 million kroner Jenny N Braat director of the Danish Maritime has previously said that Denmark is the only EU country that sends these kind of tasks in EU procurement There is a special clause in the Treaty of Rome 346 which allows you to refrain from sending such tasks in EU procurement The article uses other EU countries as a reason for failing EU procurement and the Danish shipyards are therefore unable to offer a similar function in other countries Source fyens dk Maritime Denmark Front page Copyright Maritime
